The Isles have changed hands several times over the last couple of millennia with the Romans, French, and Scandinavians since Emperor Hadrian built the wall across Britannia, and later Emperors of Rome abandoned the Isles entirely. The native tribes were too much for the Romans to handle so far from home. With such a long history, it should come as no surprise that the UK has several very well-known and ancient haunted houses.
