In the show’s fifth season, Riki Lindhome played the role of Ramona Nowitzki, a graduate student who develops an obsessive crush on Dr. Sheldon Cooper after he gives a lecture at her university. Ramona is depicted as intelligent but socially awkward, and her behavior towards Sheldon becomes increasingly unsettling as she tries to get closer to him. Lindhome’s portrayal of Ramona was praised for its comedic timing and for adding an interesting twist to Sheldon’s character.

In addition to her appearance on The Big Bang Theory, Lindhome has had notable roles in other television shows such as Gilmore Girls and The Muppets, and has co-created and starred in the comedy series Another Period. In addition to her acting work, she is also a musician and member of the comedy music duo Garfunkel and Oates, which she co-founded in 2007. The duo has released multiple albums and specials, and has also appeared in their own television series on IFC.
