Most of the world knows what a selfie is and most people have possibly got a few on their social media pages. Selfies are extremely common photos to come across, and you would think they were safe to take, right? Well, there’s a group of people testing their limits and taking selfies in dangerous circumstances. A study done by the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care revealed that 259 people have died while trying to take a selfie between 2011 and 2017. So, the question is, how far is too far? Here are some examples of people who went over and above, putting their lives at risk to get that perfect shot.
They Aren’t Afraid of Heights
This selfie was taken in Yekaterinburg, Russia, and it’s more than alarming. The Russian Interior Ministry thought so too and launched a campaign a few years ago to promote safe selfie-taking. This was in response to the many deaths and injuries from people trying to take selfies at this exact spot.
Not A Care In The World
This man goes by the name Alexander Remnev, and he is known for posting extremely dangerous selfies. Here we can see him relaxing over the skyline that’s located in Hong Kong. He seems to not have a care in the world while gambling with his life.
