Swan Lake Set

One of Princess Diana’s most well known jewelry sets, the Swan Lake set was commissioned by her and made by Garrard. She wore it to a Swan Lake ballet performance in London, which was one of her last public appearances. The set was auctioned off after her death and was sold for $13 million.

The large gemstones in this set were originally opals, not rubies. Queen Victoria purchased the necklace from Garrad in 1854. Queen Alexandria then inherited the necklace and replaced the opals with rubies. Queen Elizabeth II now owns the set, worth about $1 million.
