Whether it’s because of cartoons and movies, or just your imagination, chances are that you have your own perception of the captain. Regardless of what that impression is though, for some reason, the ship captain is usually a big deal. Most people imagine the captain and his crew directing the ship with enthusiasm. There’s the big steering wheel, and the captain stands with his telescope steering at the open sea. No one can blame you for thinking that way based on the concept the media offers.

Your imagination of the captain being a true ocean blood isn’t necessarily fabricated. The difference here is just a matter of process improvement and nothing more. In the old days, the captain and his crew did everything manually, which made for a more involved process. However, today there is a lot of technology in the mix, so they can even relax completely and allow the built-in autopilot to take over. Note, however, that most cruise ships still feature the telescope and large steering wheel.
