Following her time as First Lady, Melania hired three of the White House staff members to continue on with her after leaving the White House herself. The staff that she selected joined her in Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida.

Separate Spaces
According to a book by CNN reporter Kate Bennett, while living in the White House, Melania occupied her own room on her own, separate floor there. According to Bennet, Donald slept in the master bedroom on the second level, and Melania slept in a two-room space on the third floor that was once occupied by Michelle Obama’s mother. Other presidential couples that slept in separate rooms were the Kennedys and Johnsons.
