Al Gore served as the 45th vice president of the United States from 1993 until 2001. He met Mary Elizabeth “Tipper” Aitcheson at his senior prom in 1965 and they got married in May 1970. They have four children together. After 40 years of marriage, the two announced that they were separating in 2010, shocking the world. Tipper is an activist, photographer, and author.

John Kerry is the US special presidential envoy for climate and has previously served as the secretary of state from 2013 to 2017. Kerry met Teresa Heinz at an Earth Day rally in 1990. They got married in May 1995. Teresa is a philanthropist and businesswoman and now the chair of Heinz Endowments as well as the Heinz Family Philanthropies.
