Braveheart Controversy
Braveheart, which follows the story of William Wallace, who fought for Scottish freedom from the English, was easily one of Mel Gibson’s biggest roles, but it was plagued with historical inaccuracies. One of the most notable of these inaccuracies was the war paint used by Gibson. The Scottish fighting gear that the Scottish rebels were wearing in the movie actually predates William Wallace by over 200 years. The equivalent would be making a movie about modern-day America but having the characters dress like colonial Americans.

Robert Downey Sr. is best known for writing a directing the underground movie Putney Swope. That was far from all this legendary actor did during his extensive career, however. He has even appeared as recently as 2005 in the movie Rittenhouse Square. Robert Downey Jr. is currently best known for his role as Tony Stark, or Iron Man, in the MCU. He was the highest-paid actor in Hollywood while making the Avengers and Iron Man movies.
